<p>AN ARTIFICIAL SHOULDER JOINT TRIBO SIMULATOR THAT ALLOWS UP TO THREE INDEPENDENT ROTATIONAL MOVEMENTS TO MIMIC THE PHYSIOLOGICAL MOVEMENTS OF THE HUMAN SHOULDER JOINT WHICH ARE THE FLEXION-EXTENSION MOTION, ABDUCTION-ADDUCTION MOTION, AND INTERNAL-EXTERNAL-ROTATIONAL MOTION. THE SIMULATOR IS EMPLOYED TO INVESTIGATE THE WEAR AND STRENGTH OF IMPLANTS OF VARYING MATERIALS AND SIZES. FURTHER, THE SIMULATOR INCLUDES A PRESSING MEANS FOR PROVIDING CONSTANT COMPRESSIVE FORCE TO SIMULATE ACTUAL SHOULDER JOINT LOAD DURING PHYSIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY.</p> |
