PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to make the thickness of the bottom corresponding to a loading area of a light source unit thicker than the other areas and form a heat emitting unit on the outside of a cover bottom. CONSTITUTION: Light source units(17,19) irradiate light onto a side of a light guide plate(7). A division type cover bottom includes a first cover bottom and a second cover bottom. The first cover bottom places the light source units at a part where the bottom crosses a side. The thickness of the bottom corresponding to the part where the bottom crosses a side is thicker than the thicknesses of the other areas. The second cover bottom is combined with the first cover bottom. A heat emitting unit(21) includes a protrusion unit(21b) and a depression unit(21a).
