The pin (40) has a rigid core (41) i.e. metal tube, provided at an upper part of the pin. The rigid core cooperates with a body (35) of a headrest, and is extended by a sheath (42) fixed around the core in a lower part of the pin. The sheath is overmolded with the core. A free end of the sheath comprises a locking unit (53) that locks the sheath along vertical position in a receiving bush (12) of a backrest of a seat. The sheath comprises an upper stop (45) supported against an upper surface of the bush. The sheath is made of plastic material. An independent claim is also included for a headrest for a seat of a motor vehicle, comprising a pin.
