<p>Disclosed is a fuel injection valve which includes a nozzle plate having an upper surface provided with a step height portion. The nozzle plate has a plurality of pairs of injection holes, so that fuel liquid columns injected through each pair of injection holes form a liquid film. At one of the injection holes, a fuel flow is redirected along the side of the step height portion due to the presence of the step height portion in the vicinity of the injection hole, thus forming a swirling flow at the inlet of the injection hole. Meanwhile, the other injection hole is spaced apart from the step height portion and thus has a uniform inflow formed with no swirling flow. As a result, an increase in fuel pressure would cause the shape of the liquid film to change into a liquid film in a predetermined pattern.</p> |
