<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable computer which can estimate whether every sensed touch is intentional. <P>SOLUTION: In one exemplary embodiment, there is provided a portable computer having a display assembly coupled to a base assembly so as to alternate between a closed position and an open position. A palm rest is formed by a touchpad disposed on the surface of the base assembly.
