<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently provide a user with useful information when a pre-registered schedule is carried out. <P>SOLUTION: An information providing server 200 collects and accumulates, from a Web server 400 and the like, information related to a pre-registered schedule in advance with consideration for time constraint on the schedule. When the schedule is carried out, the information providing server provides a user with guide information collected in advance as well as a route to a destination. At this time, the information providing server considers a current position of the user, margin time for the following schedule, and the like to control whether or not to provide the information. After the information is provided, the information providing server checks whether or not the user takes action following the provided information to determine whether the user wants the provided information. When the information is determined to be unnecessary, other information is provided.
