<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure of a shaft seal capable of improving the mounting workability of a shaft seal with respect to a steering cover, and obtaining its tight mounting condition. <P>SOLUTION: The mounting structure of the shaft seal 3 is configured so as to seal a steering cover 2 attached to a dash panel with a steering shaft 1 inserted into the interior of the steering cover. A cylindrical fitting part 12 into which the shaft seal is fitted is provided in the upper end of the steering cover. Three holding parts 13 comprising a base 13a and a holding claw 13b and expandable and shrinkable are provided in the predetermined circumferential positions in the outer peripheral side of the upper end of the fitting part. Three protrusions 15 are provided in the seating surface 12a of the fitting part wherein the holding parts are not provided. A space 14 of which a height is equal to or lower than the protrusions 15 in height is formed between the seating surface and the lower surface of a flange part of the shaft seal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
