<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent print density from becoming low by adjusting a distance between a printing mechanism and a platen when printing continues beyond a standard number of printing dots. <P>SOLUTION: A selection is made by comparing the standard number of print dots and the overall number of print dots in which a plurality of print elements are driven, when an ink ribbon is due for replacement, whether to change the number of prints, to adjust a distance between the print mechanism and the platen, or to stop the printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
