<p>A torsion beam type suspension device, wherein a trailing arm part (15) and a torsion beam part (14) are integrally formed by pressing a tailored blank material formed by butt-welding end portions of plates with different thicknesses at a weld. The weld (17) of the tailored blank material is provided with a U-shaped transverse section formed by connecting front and back side wall sections (32, 33) by a bottom wall section (31), and a pair of cutouts (34a, 34b: 35c, 35d) are formed at positions that sandwich the weld (17) therebetween at the end edge of each of the side wall sections (32, 33). Therefore, by shifting stress concentration from the weld (17) to the cutouts (34a, 34b: 35c, 35d) when the torsion beam part (14) is torsionally deformed, a weld end is prevented from peeling, thereby achieving improvement in the durability of the torsion beam type suspension device.</p> |
