<p>An intelligent switch for controlling externally connected devices, which is constructed as a socket (1, 3, 5) comprising a power outlet (2), a controller (9) connected to the power outlet and at least one communications module (10, 13) connected to the controller and at least one interface module (11, 14). The communications modules and the interface modules are adapted to two or more wireless communications protocols, so that the controller is capable of communicating with one or more external devices by means of various wireless protocols. The socket may comprise at least two interface modules adapted to their respective communications protocols or at least one exchangeable interface module. Two or more intelligent switches may be connected in a master/slave configuration (22, 23), where the one switch controls the other switches.</p> |
