<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for measuring concentration of glucose in blood which is portable and allows easy determination of whether or not a displayed glucose concentration is a normal value based on a background color of a display screen. <P>SOLUTION: A measuring unit 21 generates a signal indicating a concentration of glucose in blood and outputs it. A control unit 27 displays the concentration of glucose on a display 23. At the same time, the control unit 27 makes a backlight unit 24 to emit a light having a color corresponding to the concentration of glucose.
