摘要 Disclosed is a radiation detector that uses a scintillator with a short fluorescent life, improves the efficiency with which an optical detector detects light emitted by the scintillator, and has excellent long-term motion stability, time resolution, and count rate characteristics. The radiation detector is formed by the positioning of an optical wavelength conversion layer formed by an organic phosphor with, for example, polyvinyl toluene as the base material thereof, between the scintillator formed by a fluoride single crystal of Ce-containing LiCaAlF6 crystals etc., and the optical detector which has a light entrance window material made from a transparent glass material such as borosilicate glass. The radiation detector is characterized by the scintillator having a peak light emission wavelength of 360 nm max., the peak wavelength of light after conversion in the optical conversion layer being 400 nm max., and, ideally, the refractive indexes of the scintillator and the optical wavelength conversion layer both being 1.35-1.65.
