PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, a method for manufacturing the same, and a lithium secondary battery including the same.

SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery comprises a lithium nickel composite oxide. Lithium ions are distributed in a gradient of the lithium ions concentration that becomes lower from the surface portion to the core portion of the lithium nickel composite oxide.
