<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering apparatus that can achieve better steering feel by relaxing fluctuation of steep and momentary steering torque accompanying generation of non follow-up condition resulting from a ball screw device. <P>SOLUTION: A follow-up compensation control part determines that a non follow-up condition resulting from the ball screw device is generated, when a second rotation angle θp by the rack shaft side rather than the torsion bar does not vary, although the first rotation angle θs by the steering side rather than torsion bar in steering shaft, is in a condition of continuous and changing in one direction.
