<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material which affords a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with excellent cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material contains a lithium-containing metallic oxide with the composition represented by LiFe<SB POS="POST">1-x</SB>M<SB POS="POST">x</SB>P<SB POS="POST">1-y</SB>Si<SB POS="POST">y</SB>O<SB POS="POST">4</SB>(wherein M is one or more kinds of metallic element selected from Zr, Sn, Y, and Al, 0.05≤x<1, and 0.05≤y<1) and capable of intercalating/deintercalating lithium, and a metallic oxide represented by M'O<SB POS="POST">z</SB>(wherein M' is one or more kinds of metallic element selected from Zr, Sn, Y, and Al, and z is determined by the valence of M'). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
