<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device with excellent convenience, preserving visibility through change of display number of icons. <P>SOLUTION: A map display device comprises a user's vehicle position specification means 2 that obtains a present position of a user's vehicle, a map DB7 that records map information, a map data filtering means 5, and a map display means 4. The map data filtering means 5 has a filtering mode that calculates a distance between a specific road a user is traveling or plans to travel and facilities based on the present position and the map information, and selects facilities having a calculated result equal to or less than a specified value.
