<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an existing piping deterioration diagnosing apparatus that enables a flaw detecting sensor to easily reach a desired position even if the distance from a branch pipe to the destined position of the flaw detecting sensor is long, and a diagnosing method using the diagnosing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Diagnosis is accomplished by disposing a buoyancy providing bag 25 that is inflated by being fed with gas to provide buoyancy to a flaw detecting sensor 20; feeding gas to and thereby inflating the buoyancy providing bag 25 to make the flaw detecting sensor 20 apparently light; moving the flaw detecting sensor 20 to an intended position downstream with the flow of fluid in an existing pipe 10 while forcing a signal transmitting cable 24 into the existing pipe 10 via a branch pipe 13; discharging the gas in and thereby reducing the buoyancy of the buoyancy providing bag 25 to bring the flaw detecting sensor 20 into contact with the bottom of the pipe 10 upon reach of the flaw detecting sensor 20 at the intended position; and then moving the flaw detecting sensor 20 along the pipe bottom while pulling the signal transmitting cable 24 out of the branch pipe 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
