<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soundness evaluation method capable of more precisely calculating the amount of plastic deformation, when quickly and non-destructively evaluating the soundness of a structural material by measuring the hardness of the structural material and calculating the amount of plastic deformation. <P>SOLUTION: A soundness evaluation method for evaluating the soundness of a structural material by calculating the plastic deformation amount of the structural material includes: a first step for measuring a hardness value HV<SB POS="POST">obs(n)</SB>of the structural material, or an evaluation target; a second step for determining a variation ΔHV<SB POS="POST">aging</SB>in the hardness due to thermal aging in which the structural material is subjected to until a measuring time; a third step for subtracting the variation ΔHV<SB POS="POST">aging</SB>from the hardness value HV<SB POS="POST">obs(n)</SB>to calculate a hardness value HV<SB POS="POST">cal(n)</SB>where the effect of the thermal aging is removed; and a fourth step for applying the hardness value HV<SB POS="POST">cal</SB>to first information indicating the relation between the previously determined plastic deformation amount and the hardness of the structural material subjected to no thermal aging to calculate the plastic deformation amount ε of the structural material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
