<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure good BER performance at both low code rate and high code rate in a Rate-Compatible LDPC(low-density parity-check) code. <P>SOLUTION: When encoding an LDPC code having a plurality of code rates where all parity check matrixes are constituted of a plurality of cyclic matrixes, an encoder 121 performs encoding so that 1<w<SB POS="POST">0</SB>and w<SB POS="POST">1</SB><w<SB POS="POST">0</SB>, assuming w<SB POS="POST">0</SB>is the maximum column weight of a cyclic matrix constituting a check matrix of some code where the code rate is not the minimum value, and w<SB POS="POST">1</SB>is the maximum column weight of a cyclic matrix constituting a check matrix of a code having a lower code rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
