The system (1) has X-ray radiation sources (4) arranged on a C-shaped arm (2). An X-ray radiation detector (6) detects X-ray radiation delivered from the X-ray radiation sources arranged on the C-shaped arm. An actual position is determined at the X-ray radiation source or at the X-ray detector by a position sensor (16). A control device (24) is designed to carry a model of the C-shaped arm through the actual positions. The control device moves the C-shaped arm into a reference position.
