<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device capable of stably operating for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight device comprises: a power supply; an LED group consisting of a plurality of light-emitting diodes electrically connected in series; a coil connected between the power supply and the LED group; a first switching element and a second switching element connected in parallel between the coil and the LED group; and a clock signal generator for outputting a first clock signal with a first duty cycle to the first switching element and outputting a second clock signal with a second duty cycle, which rises in synchronization with falling of the first clock signal, to the second switching element. During a period in which both of the first clock signal and the second clock signal are at low levels, power accumulated in the coil is supplied to the LED group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
