LIFTING ELECTROMAGNET, AND METHOD OF LIFTING SLAB

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and lightweight lifting electromagnet that can satisfactorily carry a slab on which a recessed part curved in a width direction is continuously formed, and can secure a carrying task without inducing a lower slab when lifting the lowest slab out of the slabs stacked in the thickness direction.

SOLUTION: The lifting electromagnet 1 is employed when the slab 2 on which the recessed part 21 curved in the width direction is continuously formed in the longitudinal direction on a surface in a central part in a width direction that is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction where an effective magnetic pole width 1x is set within the curved width of the slab 2.
