The roll stabilizer (1) has an electromechanical actuator and a support torque generating medium, where an energy storage device is arranged at an outer side. Energy is stored in the energy storage device through the electro-mechanical actuator. Another energy storage device is designed as a pressure accumulator (8). The support torque is generated by the pressure energy stored in the pressure accumulator. An independent claim is also included for a method for stabilizing a chassis of a motor vehicle by a roll stabilizer.
