<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin composition for a nonaqueous secondary battery electrode, which allows the achievement of both an excellent initial charge and discharge efficiency and an excellent rapid charging capability, and to provide a cathode for a nonaqueous secondary battery using the composition, and a nonaqueous secondary battery with the cathode, especially a lithium ion secondary battery having the cathode. <P>SOLUTION: A binder resin composition for a nonaqueous secondary battery electrode comprises: a cellulose-based macromolecule or a metal salt thereof (A), and an alkali-metal salt (B)(provided that the alkali-metal salt (B) is not an alkali metal of the cellulose-based macromolecule). The binder resin composition includes 2-49 mass% of an alkali metal derived from the alkali-metal salt (B) with respect to 100 mass% of the binder resin composition in terms of metal.
