<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for immobilizing an enzyme, enabling the design of an immobilized enzyme, dealing with the immobilization of enzymes having various molecular sizes, dealing with the immobilization of various enzymes by the modification of surface silanol group of porous silica particles, exhibiting an equivalent activity to a corresponding non-immobilized enzyme and also capable of withstanding to repeated uses, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This carrier for immobilizing the protein is provided by including the porous silica particles having an inter-particle void structure at its inside, wherein the porous silica particles have a specific mean particle diameter, a specific surface area, a specific pore volume, a specific pore diameter distribution and a specific porosity, and also have a substituent containing an organic group or an amino group on its surface, and also the immobilized protein obtained by immobilizing the protein on the carrier for immobilizing the protein is also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
