<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the operation of a wear volume detection mechanism and always enable accurate wear compensation in a clutch cover assembly. <P>SOLUTION: The clutch cover assembly 1 is provided with a clutch cover (2) fixed to a flywheel, a pressure plate (3), a diaphragm spring (5), a wear volume detection mechanism (6), and a wear following mechanism (7). The wear volume detection mechanism (6) is a mechanism having a plurality of engagement positions, and has a movement detection member (15) which releases engagement at a first engagement position when a friction member reaches a predetermined wear volume and moves to a second engagement position.
