<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirring device capable of stirring on a reaction apparatus without transporting a reaction vessel out of the reaction apparatus in order to stir liquid contained in the reaction vessel. <P>SOLUTION: The problem is solved by a stirring device for stirring liquid contained in a reaction vessel comprising: a reaction vessel holding part for holding the reaction vessel; a holding base for oscillatably holding the reaction vessel holding part; and reaction vessel oscillating means for oscillating the reaction vessel held by the reaction vessel holding part, wherein (A) the reaction vessel holding part has a projection part and an oscillation shaft extending outward, the holding base has a bearing for the oscillation shaft, and the reaction vessel has: an engaging member capable of engaging with the projection part; and driving means capable of driving the engaging member, or (B) the holding base has an oscillation shaft, the reaction vessel holding part has a projection part and a bearing for the oscillation shaft, and the reaction vessel oscillating means has: an engaging member capable of engaging with the projection part; and driving means capable of driving the engaging member.
