The pump (1) i.e. vane pump (16), has a pump casing (2) provided with two housing portions (3, 4), where a flange surface (5) of one of the housing portions is arranged at another flange surface (7) of the other housing portion in a sealing manner. A sealing unit (6) i.e. annular elastomeric member, is provided an abutment surface (8) and fitted at the flange surfaces of the housing portions. The abutment surface of the sealing unit is completely covered at a groove bottom (9) of a peripheral groove (10), where the sealing unit comprises another abutment surface.
