The machine (1) has a gap part (4) formed between a more rotatably mounted impression cylinder (3) and a rotatably mounted punching cylinder (2). The gap part is more variably adjusted between the punching cylinder and the impression cylinder. A gear box (14) is provided with an input shaft i.e. worm shaft, and an output shaft i.e. worm wheel, for adjustment of the gap part. An axis of the input shaft and an axis of the output shaft of the gear box are not parallel or collinear to each other. A threaded insert is assigned to a spindle.
