<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ball-point pen that is less likely to cause sedimentation and coagulation of a color material with time, exhibits sufficient color development on a line and is excellent in writing feeling. <P>SOLUTION: In the water-based ball-point pen, glass particles containing thereinside at least one pigment and/or dye are used as a colored fine particles; and an ink composition containing the colored fine particles and water is mounted.
