<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner container and an image forming apparatus, in which the shutter member for opening and closing a toner outlet does not easily move when the toner container is an isolated state, and plastic deformation of the shutter member does not arise even when the state of the shutter member opening the toner outlet is continued for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: The toner container includes: a cap portion 34Y, into which an opening of a cylindrical container body is inserted and which has a toner outlet W for discharging a toner discharged from the container body to the outside of the container; and a shutter member to open and close the toner outlet W by engaging with rail units 34n1, 34t disposed on the cap portion 34Y and moving along the rail units 34n1, 34t.
