<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microphone assembly that shields an analog audio signal against the EMI effect without the need for adding a decoupling capacitor and has extended compatibility. <P>SOLUTION: In a mobile phone, a microphone casing is provided for shielding a moving element of the microphone, a preamplifier of the microphone, and an A/D converter to remove undesired EMI. A pure digital DSP is connected to the A/D converter to process digital signals only. The microphone converts an audible signal to an analog audio signal, and the analog audio signal is converted to a digital output signal by the A/D converter.
