<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for a network relay device, enabling low power consumption while securing necessary processing performance. <P>SOLUTION: The network relay device has a link aggregation function capable of handling a plurality of physical ports as virtual logical ports, by aggregating at least a portion of the physical ports having different transmission speeds. The network relay device comprises: a rate monitor for monitoring at least one of a frame reception rate at the network relay device and a transmission rate; and according to at least one of the transmission rate and the reception rate, and the power consumption of an individual physical port constituting a logical port, a resource manager for switching the working state of the individual physical port constituting the logical port between an active state capable of transfer and a standby state having lower power consumption than the active state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
