<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal excavation grab bucket prevented in the degradation of an excavating force. <P>SOLUTION: In the grab bucket, a pair of right and left facing buckets comprising the grab buckets 1 are suspended by a supporting wire 2 via an upper supporting member 3 and both right and left arms 4 swingingly connected to the upper supporting member at respective ends and swingingly connected to lower ends of the buckets 5 at the other ends. Horizontal connecting positions of ends of the right and left arms are arranged on a straight line passing a connecting shaft of the pair of right and left facing buckets and blade edges of the buckets in a closed state. The connecting shaft mutually and rotatably connecting upper parts of the pair of buckets is arranged to open and close the pair of facing right and left buckets. An arm closing means 6 moving both of the arms at least from the open state to the close state around the connecting part of the upper supporting member is arranged.
