The method involves arranging bank note storages (24, 26) in a security chamber (20). Information is displayed over a stack of bank notes by an operating unit, and a request for inputting conformation information is displayed for conformation of the information over the bank notes. The input bank notes are removed from one of the storages and displayed over input-and output unit (14) when the conformation information is not input in a predetermined time interval or when rejection information is input. A denomination of each bank note is determined after inputting the bank notes.
