PURPOSE: A L-ornitine-producing microorganism isp rovided to prepare L-ornitine of high yield and high efficiency and to be applied to medical, pharmaceutical, food, and feed industries. CONSTITUTION: A L-ornitine-producing microorganism has weakened intrinsic gluconate kinase(GntK) activity. The microorganism is Corynebacterium sp. The microorganism has enhanced argCJBD operon activity. A method for preparing L-ornitine comprises: a step of culturing the L-ornitine-producing microorganism; and a step of collecting L-ornitine.
