PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system, portable terminal device, server device, program for portable terminal device, program for server device and the guidance starting method capable of shortening the time to the start to guide by abbreviating complicated operation, if travelling to the destination only on foot is appropriate, in the case of travelling with a travelling means on foot or other than on foot. SOLUTION: A control part 13 of the server SV determines whether the moving on foot route is appropriate; and if it is determined that travelling on foot is appropriate, transmit the walking route guidance instruction to the portable telephone MP, while skipping transmitting information of searched results; and when the system control part 28 receives instructions on the walking route guidance, the walking guidance based on the searched route searched by the server SV is started.
