<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint image formation device and a fingerprint image formation method of small image expansion and contraction. <P>SOLUTION: The system is the fingerprint image formation device for forming the fingerprint image of the finger 70 sweeping on a partial sensor 10, by synthesizing the partial images obtained by the above-described partial sensor 10 having: an updated position of the partial image data setting means 40 to set up a value equivalent to the amount of movement and/or move position of the finger for updating the partial image data for recording the partial image data obtained by the above-described partial sensor; and a partial image data updating means to determine if the above-described partial image data are recorded based on the value equivalent to the amount of the movement and/or the move position of the partial image data updating position set up by the above-described partial image data updating position setting means.
