A method and device for treatment of liquid under high pressure in a hydraulic installation (1) comprising at least a hydraulic cylinder (4) and an accumulator (6) where the method comprises: - connecting a treatment device (2) for liquid to the hydraulic installation (1); - directing liquid under high pressure to the treatment device (2); - circulating liquid by means of a circulation pump (22) via a filter (30) under high pressure from the hydraulic installation (1) and back to the hydraulic installation (1); and - disconnecting the treatment device (2) from the hydraulic installation (1) subsequent to completed treatment.
