The frame has a tubular metal rod (2) mounted slidingly in a sheath secured to a backrest of a seat. The rod comprises a side notch (3) cooperating with a sliding locking element, where the locking element is mounted in top of the sheath. A small plate (5) of a stiffening unit (4) is inserted into the rod, and extended from both sides of the side notch. The plate is arranged parallel to the side notch along length (L) of the plate, where the length of the plate is similar to inner diameter of the rod. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a headrest for a seat of a motor vehicle (2) a method for forming a frame.
