PURPOSE: A light emitting diode and a liquid crystal display apparatus including the same are provided to prevent the display quality of a liquid crystal display apparatus from falling according to brightness unevenness by controlling the generation of an arm part, in which light does not reach, between neighboring LED areas. CONSTITUTION: A heat slug(115) includes a settling part which is leaded from a surface at a predetermined depth. An LED chip(111) is loaded on the heat slug. A case(113) includes sidewalls(200a, 200b, 200c, 200d) which are projected along a side of the heat slug. The sidewall blocks light, which comes out from the LED chip to a lateral part, or reflects the light to the front. A transparent resin(119) including a fluorescent substance is filled inside the sidewall. |
