摘要 The invention relates to the telecommunications industry, specifically to the light sources in wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network. Typical wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network infrastructure consists of multiple passive components, which provide transmission of information from the provider to the consumer. Broadband light source with a continuous spectrum and uniform power distribution can be used in these networks in order to obtain numerous channels with the spectral slicing technique and to increase the amount of information. The aim of the invention is to obtain practical spectrally sliced broadband light sources. This is realized by directly modulating the broadband light-emitting diode and employing the spectral slicing technique, which uses thin film filters with 0.9 nm bandwidth at minus 20 dB level, which provide the minimum bit error rate value to overall system.
