PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device and a method using the same are provided to flexibly modify a state of a stereoscopic image depending on a user state when the stereoscopic image is played. CONSTITUTION: A data transceiving unit(216) receives user state information from a glasses unit(100). A storage unit(209) stores the user data. A 3D format generator(211) transforms an output image format by a control unit(208). The control unit compares the user state information with stored user state information. The control unit controls transformation or restoration of the output image format by the 3D format generator depending on the result of comparison.
