METHOD OF TENDON SHORTENING

FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely traumatology and orthopaedics. A tendon is dissected into two longitudinal equal portions by a length of a shortening required. The suture ends are delivered in the middle of the dissected tendon portions with alternating long and short stitches. The short stitch is placed on an internal surface of one portion of the tendon opposite to the long stitch on the external surface of the opposite portion of the tendon. Both sides of the dissected tendon are pulled together to form inner and outer loops, while the inner loops on one portion of the dissected tendon are placed in the base of the external loops on the opposite portion of the tendon. ^ EFFECT: method improves accuracy of the tendon length correction and creates optimal conditions for its fusion in a shortened position. ^ 1 ex, 2 dwg
