<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an eraser holder which can be drawn out to be set to a mechanical pencil from being excessive in total length, and to make the eraser holder applicable to a mechanical pencil with a little remaining amount of an eraser 2. <P>SOLUTION: A sliding groove 3D extending from an end of a cylindrical eraser case 3 is formed to be opposite to the case. An engaging part 3E is formed in the sliding groove 3D. Moreover, a long piece 1C extending in one longitudinal direction from a receiving part 1A and opposite to each other, and a short piece 1D extending in the other longitudinal direction from the receiving part 1A and opposite to each other are formed in a pushing member 1. The eraser 2 is fitted on either of the long piece 1C and the short piece 1D of the pushing member 1. The piece fitted with the eraser 2 is inserted in the sliding groove 3D of the eraser case 3.
