<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite-type photocatalyst capable of generating a combustible gas from moisture-containing air by sunlight. <P>SOLUTION: The composite-type photocatalyst includes a titanium-type photocatalyst represented by the formula: TiO<SB POS="POST">2-X</SB>(X is the real number satisfying the condition of 0<X≤1) and a sintered body of magnesia in a state of contacting each other. The main component of the sintered body of magnesia preferably is either spinel or MgO and spinel.
