PURPOSE: A display device and a control method thereof are provided to display a first processing result whose search time is shorter than a second processing result before the second processing result, thereby quickly providing a search result. CONSTITUTION: A storage unit(40) stores image pattern information and matching information of the image pattern information. A pattern receiving unit(50) receives first shaped information from the outside. An image processing unit(20) selects pattern information related to a first shape from the image pattern information, selects an image matched with the selected pattern information according to the matching information, and displays the image on a display unit. The image processing unit searches the content of the image to select and display an image matched with the first shape.
