LED SELECTION FOR WHITE POINT CONTROL IN BACKLIGHTS

PURPOSE: An LED selection for white point control in backlights is provided to improve the whole rightness of a backlight unit by increasing a current through LED strings. CONSTITUTION: A back light unit(32) comprises at least two LED groups and includes a first string and a second string. A drivers drives the first string and the second string respectively and calculates a white point corresponding to a target white point. A controller maintains the correspondence of a target white point over a temperature to detect the temperature in a displays unit.
