<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary drive device that has high efficiency of energy, low cost and compact size. <P>SOLUTION: This centrifugal blood pump device includes: an impeller 10 arranged in a blood chamber 7; a plurality of permanent magnets 17 arranged at the impeller 10; a plurality of sets of magnetic materials 18 which are arranged in a motor chamber 8, and rotatively drive the impeller 10 via a partition 6; and a coil 20. The magnetic materials 18 include band-shaped thin magnetic steel plates 18a which are wound around a center line L1 a plurality of times.
