<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus, an image reproduction method and a program which can automatically display images appropriate for a viewer as a slide show even when a plurality of viewers view images. <P>SOLUTION: The image display apparatus 1 includes an internal memory 14 in which image data with respect to each individual divided into folders is stored. The image reproduction method comprises the steps of recognizing, when displaying the stored images as a slide show, a face of a viewer by capturing an image by using an imaging element and determining whether the viewer viewed the image before (step S45), skipping the image when determined that the viewer viewed the image before (step S46), displaying the image when determined that the viewer did not view the image before (step S47) and counting the number of viewing times.
